Matsuzaki 4 star 1898F is one of the original matsuzaki shears. The 1898 of a traditional barber style handle with permanent finger rest put this company on the map world wide.

On the blade you see an engraved crest of three golden rings symbolizing three generations of great design and hand craftmanship. Hollow ground clam shell blades have a hamaguri edge and are designed stronger to cut with greater power yet maintain that delicate balance that comes with a longer blade and shorter handles. Greater control is gained with this design.
